WEG Invests in New Electric Motor Plant in Türkiye
In order to provide customers with the latest technology, global motor and drive manufacturer, WEG, has opened a new facility in Dilovasi, Kocaeli, expanding its operations into Eastern Europe and southwest Asia. The 7,000 m2 space will be used to provide technical support to customers and to assemble products. The move offers a shorter time-to-market not only for the local region but also for the surrounding countries.
Türkiye is one of WEG's most important markets for motors and drives and offers an excellent position for growth opportunities in the Middle East, Eastern Europe, North Africa and Central Asia. As the industrial sector in Türkiye continues to grow every year, the new expansion offers good potential for OEMs. More than 30 per cent of Türkiye's GDP comes from the industrial sector.
The facility, which has been operational since August 2022, will continue to support this growth and allow WEG to develop close relationships with both local suppliers and trade partners. WEG will also be able to expand its market coverage in low and medium voltage electric motors, which are in high demand in the region.

We are positioned right in the centre of the location of our main customers with export opportunities to countries close to Turkey.
