The Turkish Air Conditioning sector is actively engaging in global commercial collaborations.

The Turkish HVAC&R Industry Exporters' Association (İSİB) is the main exporters' association for the Turkish HVAC&R sector. They are actively working on both national and international levels to advance the sector. Recently, İSİB organized the Saudi Arabia Sectoral Trade Delegation and Europe Buyer Delegation programs in May, where they met with representatives from the air conditioning industry. These events, which saw significant participation, included discussions on potential strategic collaborations.

ISIB, continuing its efforts to enhance the brand value of the Turkish HVAC&R sector globally, organized the Saudi Arabia Sectoral Trade Delegation and European Buyer Delegation programs in May. The Saudi Arabia Sectoral Trade Delegation, held in Jeddah and Riyadh, saw participation from 106 Saudi companies and 19 Turkish companies, with over 220 business meetings in Jeddah and 290 in Riyadh. The European Buyer Delegation in Istanbul welcomed 38 representatives from 17 European countries and over 80 member companies from Türkiye

The air conditioning market in Saudi Arabia is larger than anticipated.

İSİB Chairman of the Board of Directors Mehmet Şanal and Board Member Osman Baştaş participated in the Saudi Arabia Sectoral Trade Delegation programme, which was organised with the aim of strengthening trade relations with Saudi Arabia. During the meetings in Jeddah, the delegation was visited by Mustafa Ünal, Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Jeddah, Oğuz Şahin, Commercial Attaché of the Republic of Turkey in Jeddah and Sultan Alhamed, an official of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce. Prof. Dr. Emrullah İşler, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Riyadh, and Burak Balkanlıoğlu, Commercial Counsellor of the Republic of Türkiye in Riyadh, attended the meetings in Riyadh and met with the companies. Evaluating the Saudi Arabia Sectoral Trade Delegation event, İSİB Chairman Mehmet Şanal said: "The potential trade relationship between Turkey and Saudi Arabia is very important. According to Trade Map sources, Türkiye's total exports to Saudi Arabia in 2023 was 2.62 billion dollars, while our sector exports were 96.81 million dollars. Our share in air conditioning sector imports in Saudi Arabia was recorded as 1.37 per cent. As a result of the meetings in the organisation, we observed that the air conditioning market in Saudi Arabia is much larger than anticipated. As a result of the consultations we made with our participating Turkish companies, we decided to closely follow the market by organising different activities in this market in the coming period."

The goal is to export $3.1 billion to European Union countries in 2024.

A total of 38 companies from 17 European countries took part in the European Buying Delegation organized by İSİB in Istanbul. Salih Zeki Poyraz, Vice Chairman of İSİB's Board of Directors, and Okan Murat Erenoğlu, another Board Member, attended the event, along with 80 Turkish member companies. Salih Zeki Poyraz described the delegation as highly productive, emphasizing the valuable networking opportunities it provided with key companies from European Union member states, which are significant business partners for the sector. He highlighted the challenge and expense Turkish companies face in independently meeting with such a large number of foreign companies abroad. The delegation facilitated meetings between Turkish sector representatives and numerous foreign companies in Turkey, enabling product introductions and fostering business relationships. By hosting the delegation, İSİB successfully promoted Turkey, strengthening ties with the European market and leveraging its benefits.

There is a Customs Union agreement between EU member countries and Turkey, allowing our products to enter the EU market without customs duty. The favorable exchange rate further enhances the appeal of our products in Europe. The high quality of our products also boosts our competitiveness in the European market. Our goal for 2024 is to have 50 percent of our exports going to European Union countries. Through upcoming delegations and meetings, we plan to reinforce connections, boost exports, and sustain our competitiveness.
