REFRIGERA 2027 to Bring the Refrigeration Industry Together in Bologna
REFRIGERA 2027, covering a broad spectrum from industrial and commercial refrigeration to cold chain, cryogenic technologies and energy management, will take place from 10–12 November 2027 at the Bologna Exhibition Centre in Italy. The fifth edition of the event aims to bring together refrigeration and cooling industry professionals from Southern Europe, the Mediterranean region and international markets.
REFRIGERA 2027, an international trade show dedicated to the refrigeration, cooling and cold chain industries, will return to Bologna, Italy, from 10–12 November 2027. The fifth edition will be held at the Bologna Exhibition Centre (BolognaFiere), bringing together manufacturers, technology providers, suppliers and professionals from across the refrigeration value chain.
Following the previous editions, REFRIGERA 2027 will continue its expansion by occupying Halls 29 and 30 and the Mall area of the Bologna Exhibition Centre.
Main Focus Areas of REFRIGERA 2027
REFRIGERA 2027 is designed to cover a wide range of technologies and applications across the refrigeration and cooling industry. Its main sectors include industrial cooling and refrigeration, commercial cooling and refrigeration, cooling and freezing technologies, temperature-controlled transport and storage, cold chain, ultra-low-temperature applications, cryogenics and energy management.
Particular emphasis will be placed on technologies and solutions for process, industrial and commercial cooling. Energy efficiency and energy management across refrigeration applications, from production facilities to commercial environments and logistics operations, will also be among the key themes of the event.
Energy Management and the Changing Role of Refrigeration Professionals
Another important topic at REFRIGERA 2027 will be the evolving role of refrigeration professionals, particularly technicians who are increasingly required to address the entire “thermal cycle” within companies and industrial facilities.
This broader approach extends beyond individual refrigeration equipment and focuses on integrated solutions capable of improving overall energy performance. As a result, energy management technologies and systems designed to provide consistent and effective solutions for customers will have a significant presence at the exhibition.
Dedicated Area for Cold Chain and Food Freezing Technologies
REFRIGERA 2027 will also feature an enhanced Food Freezing Technologies – SURGELA area dedicated to frozen food production.
The dedicated section will showcase systems, machinery, equipment, materials, accessories, components and services for pre-treatment, processing, packaging and storage.
Applications will cover a wide range of frozen food categories, including ready meals, bakery products, pastries, ice cream, fresh pasta, dairy products, fruits and vegetables, meat, fish, eggs, snacks and other food products.
ATP temperature-controlled transport and storage technologies, which play an essential role in maintaining the cold chain, are also included among the main sectors represented at REFRIGERA 2027.
Cryogenic and Ultra-Low-Temperature Technologies
REFRIGERA 2027 will extend beyond conventional refrigeration applications to include ultra-low-temperature and cryogenic technologies.
The cryogenics sector will be represented by exhibitors as well as dedicated conference sessions, creating an opportunity for industry professionals to explore technologies and applications operating at extremely low temperatures.
With this broad scope, REFRIGERA aims to connect the industrial, commercial and logistics refrigeration sectors with food freezing, cold chain, cryogenics and energy management technologies under one event.
REFRIGERA 2027 to Be Co-Located with APPLITECH 2027
REFRIGERA 2027 will be held alongside APPLITECH 2027, which will return to Bologna for its second edition.
APPLITECH is dedicated to the supply chain of the manufacturing appliance and consumer electronics industries, covering technology, equipment, design, machinery, materials, accessories, components, spare parts, maintenance, recycling, logistics and services.
The co-location of REFRIGERA and APPLITECH is expected to create additional opportunities for networking and business development between professionals from complementary manufacturing and technology sectors.
International Delegations Expected at REFRIGERA 2027
REFRIGERA is also strengthening its international reach through dedicated delegation programmes.
During the 2025 edition, an international delegation representing more than 30 African countries participated in the event in collaboration with ITA – Italian Trade Agency. The initiative contributed to fostering international cooperation, technology and knowledge exchange, and new business opportunities within the refrigeration sector.
According to the organisers, additional international delegations from other continents are expected to visit REFRIGERA in 2027, further strengthening the exhibition’s role as an international meeting point for the refrigeration industry.
Why Exhibit at REFRIGERA 2027?
REFRIGERA 2027 aims to provide manufacturers, technology suppliers, component producers, engineers, technicians, distributors and other industry professionals with direct access to the refrigeration and cooling supply chain.
Alongside the exhibition, the programme will include international conferences, seminars, workshops and industry events, offering opportunities for professional development, technical knowledge exchange and networking with experts and organisations from across the sector.
REFRIGERA 2027 will take place from 10–12 November 2027 at the Bologna Exhibition Centre in Bologna, Italy. Companies interested in exhibiting can contact the organisers at [email protected]
