ODE Yalıtım draws attention to the fact that proper thermal insulation helps reduce air conditioning-related energy consumption and costs while maintaining indoor comfort during the summer months.
During the summer period, a significant portion of the heat load reaching buildings enters through exterior walls, roofs and windows. In buildings with thermal insulation, however, heat coming from the outdoor environment can be controlled more effectively. This allows air conditioners to operate for shorter periods and at lower capacity while providing the same level of comfort.

Proper insulation applications contribute both to reducing energy consumption and to creating a more balanced indoor temperature in living spaces.”

Stating that the performance expected from thermal insulation during the summer months depends not only on choosing the right product but also on proper application, Ozan Turan continued: “It is of great importance that the materials used in insulation applications comply with standards and that the application is carried out by expert teams. In addition, roofs, exterior walls, floors, windows and doors must be considered as a whole. When heat transfer that may occur at different points of the building is limited, the indoor temperature can be maintained in a more balanced manner. This contributes to more efficient operation of air conditioning systems while increasing energy efficiency. In the long term, proper insulation applications offer significant benefits in terms of both user comfort and the efficient use of energy resources.
TS 825 Takes Cooling Needs into Account as Well as Heating
Indeed, the TS 825 standard currently in force is also based on this perspective. Taking into account not only the heating needs of buildings but also their cooling needs, the standard demonstrates the contribution of proper thermal insulation to energy efficiency throughout all four seasons. Thanks to thermal insulation designed and applied in accordance with standards, savings of up to 70 percent can be achieved in energy consumption resulting from heating and cooling in buildings,” he said.
