Energy Efficiency and Sustainability at the Center of ODE Insulation’s Climate Strategy

As energy efficiency plays a critical role in combating the climate crisis, insulation solutions stand out as one of the most effective and accessible ways to reduce carbon emissions. The impacts of climate change are becoming increasingly visible every year. This situation has made energy efficiency one of the most critical issues on a global scale. While 33% of total energy consumption takes place in buildings, heating and cooling demands are among the primary causes of carbon emissions. At this point, insulation not only provides energy savings but also makes a significant contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

ODE Insulation supports this transformation not only through its products but also through its production processes. In line with its sustainable production vision, the company continues its investments in renewable energy while implementing practices aimed at improving energy efficiency and resource utilization at its manufacturing facilities. In addition to rooftop solar energy systems used at its Eskişehir facilities, efforts are also underway at its Çorlu production facility to further support the use of renewable energy.

Ozan Turan, Vice Chairman of the Board of ODE Insulation, emphasized the role of insulation in addressing the climate crisis during his remarks on World Climate Day:

"Globally, one-third of energy consumption occurs in buildings. Energy demand resulting from heating and cooling accounts for a significant portion of carbon emissions. Properly designed and standards-compliant insulation systems can reduce energy consumption in buildings by up to 70%. This not only means lower energy costs, but also provides a direct contribution to climate action through reduced carbon emissions and the preservation of natural resources. In this respect, insulation stands out as one of the fastest and most accessible solutions in combating the climate crisis."

“All industries must take responsibility for the climate crisis”

Ozan Turan also highlighted that tackling climate change requires a multidimensional approach:

"The climate crisis is a global issue that requires all sectors to take responsibility. We approach this process from the perspective of both product development and transforming our production infrastructure. Insulation is one of the most effective and cost-efficient solutions for reducing carbon emissions by lowering energy consumption in buildings and industry. At the same time, we continue our efforts to increase the use of renewable energy in our production processes and reduce our carbon footprint."

Extending its environmentally focused approach to global markets, ODE Insulation accounts for 17% of Türkiye’s insulation materials exports. The company has also been the export champion in the “Insulation Materials Export” category at the Export Leaders Awards organized by the Turkish HVAC&R Exporters Association (İSİB) since 2022.
