Nidec Global Appliance Advances Construction of New Embraco Compressor Plant in India

Nidec Global Appliance is making significant progress on its new manufacturing facility in India dedicated to the production of Embraco compressors. Production at the new plant is expected to begin in the last quarter of 2026, followed by the start of sales in early 2027. The facility is expected to directly employ around 1,500 people.

Nidec Global Appliance has announced that construction of its new manufacturing facility in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra, India, has reached an advanced stage. The plant will be dedicated to the production of compressors under Embraco, a brand of Nidec Global Appliance specializing in refrigeration technology.

According to the company, the main pre-engineered building (PEB) structure has been completed, while roof sheeting has entered its final phase. The project is now transitioning to mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) works.

Production Scheduled to Begin in Late 2026

Production at the new Embraco compressor facility is expected to begin in the last quarter of 2026, with sales scheduled to start in early 2027.

The investment represents another step in Nidec Global Appliance’s global expansion strategy and is expected to strengthen the company’s manufacturing presence in India while bringing Embraco solutions closer to customers across the region.

Ricardo Bristotti, President of Nidec Global Appliance, described the new plant as a major step in the company’s global expansion and a strategic milestone in delivering Embraco solutions closer to regional customers.

New Plant to Create Around 1,500 Direct Jobs

Once operational, the facility is expected to provide direct employment for approximately 1,500 people. The project is also expected to contribute to the local economy through suppliers, services and commercial activities.

Nidec Global Appliance is also working with technical schools and universities to help develop local talent and prepare the workforce for manufacturing operations at the new facility.

Currently, more than 500 people are working at the construction site, supported by a team of 50 administrative professionals.

With the new facility, Nidec Global Appliance will expand its manufacturing footprint for Embraco compressors in India and strengthen its production and supply capabilities for regional markets.
