ISIB arranged Turkish HVAC Insdustry Promotion Days in Tanzania - October 2018


Turkish HVAC&R Exporters Association (ISIB) organized the “HVAC&R Sector Promotion Days” in the Tanzanian city of Dar es Salaam on 23-24 October 2018.
As part of ISIB’s roadmap targeting expanding the export market and enter into distant markets, Tanzania was the first stop in the African market. The organization involved B2B meetings and training seminars.
The first of the “HVAC&R Sector Promotion Days” series, which is a Project of the Turkish Promotion Group, was thus held in Tanzania. The first of its kind, the promotion days utilize various promotional tools including but not limited to training seminars, B2B meetings, product exhibits and a gala dinner.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Mehmet Sanal, President of the Board of Directors of Turkish HVAC&R Exporters Association, said that the association is working towards ensuring the Turkish HVAC&R sector gets its deserved share in the global market. Mr. Sanal also made the following remarks: “Our programmes covering visits by a business delegation which we have initiated in 2018 are ongoing with this event in Tanzania, which follows the organizations in Chile and Argentine. We will continue to organize fairs, business delegation visits and promotion days in many countries around the World, principally in Africa and South America.”
“There is much to be done in the region”
Levent Aydin, Member of ISIB Board of Directors and head of the Tanzania Delegation, said that a total of 44 representatives from Turkey, including the representatives of Turkish Society of HVAC and Sanitary Engineers, The Mechanical Contractors’ Association as well as members of Turkish HVAC&R Sector, attended the organization in Tanzania, which was a great and productive occasion for participants wishing to get to know more of the Tanzanian market.
Mr. Aydın also mentioned that sectoral representatives from Tanzania also showed great interest in the organization, citing participation of 273 companies in the conferences and B2B meetings. An average of 80 participants attended the training seminars and as many as one thousand B2B meetings were held. Mr. Aydin stated that these meetings will yield positive results for constructing more productive relations between the commercial actors from both countries. Mr. Aydin also mentioned that Turkish HVAC&R Sector has had a chance to utilize the regional potential: “We have carried out a detailed preliminary study on the region. During our initial discussions with our Tanzanian counterparts, we have seen how much they were interested in sectoral training seminars”. Stating that the companies attending the program were identified in accordance with the needs of Tanzania, Mr. Aydin said that “HVAC&R Sector Promotion Days do not only comprise of trade deals, but also training activities. The Turkish companies attending the program not only promotes their own products and services, but also provide training seminars for various products and their use.”
Levent Aydin also underlined that the interest in the two-day program was very high and that “Tanzania, despite the fact that we are still in the beginning phases, offers a huge potential for HVAC&R sector in the future”.
Mr. Aydin also said that Turkish HVAC&R Exporters Association will organize similar events in 4 different African countries in 2019 and that in addition to commercial ties, promotion of products in accordance with the countries’ needs as well as training seminars will also increase the trade volume in the continent.
