İMBAT Introduces Perseus Rooftop Series: A New Era in High-Efficiency HVAC Solutions

İMBAT introduced its new rooftop unit series, Perseus, to the HVAC industry during its special event titled “Safe Harbor: Perseus Rooftop,” held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at the Wyndham Grand Istanbul Levent Hotel.

The event, which attracted strong participation from industry professionals, was moderated by Adem Emre Topçu, İMBAT’s Corporate Communications and Brand Management Specialist.

The opening speech was delivered by Esra Gümrükcüler, Marketing Manager at İMBAT, who presented the company’s history and vision through a sincere and engaging narrative. Going beyond technical achievements, she shared the story behind the brand and highlighted the company’s core values.

Founded in İzmir in 1991 by newly married engineer couple Nuriye and Kerim Gümrükcüler, İMBAT is Türkiye’s first rooftop unit manufacturer and a specialist in HVAC systems. The company takes its name and logo inspiration from the refreshing İmbat wind that blows through İzmir during the summer months. The bird in its logo symbolizes the company’s mission of delivering ideal climate conditions wherever it goes.

İMBAT began its journey by meeting cold storage needs across the Aegean and Mediterranean regions. Leveraging the engineering strength of its founders and team, the company rapidly moved into compressor-based systems. In 1999, it produced its first chiller and rooftop units, followed shortly by the addition of precision-controlled systems to its portfolio. For the past 25 years, İMBAT has focused exclusively on compressor-based solutions.

Esra Gümrükçüler - İMBATFollowing its first export in 2003, Europe became the company’s most significant market. This expansion encouraged İMBAT to develop products aligned with European standards, sustainability targets, and efficiency requirements, helping the company build a pioneering position within the sector.

İMBAT became the first Eurovent-certified rooftop manufacturer in Türkiye and the seventh in the world in this category. In 2019, it grew into one of Türkiye’s leading R&D centers and, with this engineering strength, developed the country’s first data center cooling solutions. In response to rapid growth in 2022 and 2023, the company expanded its manufacturing footprint and acquired an additional factory.

Today, İMBAT employs more than 100 people and operates over 10,000 square meters of production space. All products are designed and manufactured in-house. The company exports to more than 60 countries across five continents and has extensive experience in meeting diverse regulations and project requirements worldwide.

Exports account for more than 70% of İMBAT’s total sales, with Europe representing one of its most important markets at 50%. The company is the market leader in the PCA segment in Spain, while in Germany it leads the portable rooftop product group with a 34% market share, according to Eurovent data. İMBAT also supports its customers through 14 service points outside Türkiye and 12 authorized service centers within the country.

During her speech, Esra Gümrükcüler also emphasized that the company’s long-term vision is symbolized by the four perforated dots on İMBAT’s business cards. These dots represent the goal of becoming a company with a lifespan of at least 100 years. After completing the first 25 years, one of the four marks was symbolically closed, and the company is now preparing for its 50th anniversary milestone.

She underlined that the foundation of İMBAT’s long-term success is trust—trust in customer relationships, in the long-term performance of its products, and in the strength of its teams across R&D, management, and production.

Esra Gümrükçüler - İMBATLater in the program, Sedef Mahyacı, İMBAT’s Domestic Sales and Product Development Manager, delivered a detailed presentation on the new Perseus rooftop packaged air conditioning systems.

With the launch of Perseus, İMBAT showcased a next-generation integrated solution distinguished by its high energy efficiency, compliance with F-Gas and Ecodesign regulations, and modular design. The company demonstrated that Perseus offers clear advantages over traditional multi-component HVAC systems in terms of both initial investment and operational costs.

The name Perseus, meaning “hero,” reflects both the product’s strong performance and İMBAT’s commitment to team spirit, as the company names its product families after constellations.

Perseus is a standalone HVAC solution that combines heating, cooling, and ventilation in a single unit. It is designed for a wide variety of applications, including hotels, factories, airports, shopping malls, exhibition halls, and conference centers. The series is available in air-cooled, water-cooled, and portable versions.

The design of Perseus focuses on two key priorities: maximum energy efficiency and compliance with future-ready regulations. In line with the sector’s transition toward lower-GWP refrigerants under the F-Gas Regulation, İMBAT uses R454B instead of R410A and is also focusing on even lower-GWP refrigerants such as R290 (propane) for the future.

İMBAT is also the first Turkish company to obtain Eurovent certification and maintain it through sustainable renewal, meaning that its declared performance values are independently verified. The Perseus series offers A and A+ energy class performance.

The unit delivers a maximum airflow of 55,000 m³/h and a maximum cooling capacity of 350 kW. Its modular structure allows the integration of different sections, similar to an air handling unit, offering greater flexibility and customization. Thanks to the optimized positioning of critical components, the unit requires less installation space while also providing easier access for service and maintenance.

For smaller capacities, the system uses inverter technology, while larger capacities are equipped with asymmetric scroll compressors. This configuration ensures high efficiency and low noise levels, particularly at 50–60% partial load conditions, where HVAC units operate for most of their service life.

Perseus also offers a range of optional features, including natural gas heating, hot water coils, electric heaters, humidification, and dehumidification.

According to the company, Perseus can deliver up to 15% savings in total investment costs and up to 30% reduction in energy consumption.

Following this presentation, Recep Doğan, İMBAT’s Domestic Business Development Manager, highlighted the wide range of applications of the Perseus and Orion series, their technical and economic advantages, and key reference projects where these systems have been implemented.

While presenting reference projects and success stories, İMBAT pointed to an impressive portfolio ranging from the Vienna State Opera House to Formula 1 Grand Prix terminals, underlining the level of international trust the company has earned.

Esra Gümrükçüler - İMBATThe event also featured a presentation by Orhan Gürson, one of the sector’s respected mechanical design experts. In his speech, Gürson reflected on the limitations designers faced in the past and emphasized the innovations shaping modern HVAC systems today, particularly in rooftop units, with a special focus on the critical role of humidity control.

In the closing speech, Nuriye Gümrükcüler summarized İMBAT’s approach by stating that the company does not merely offer products with strong performance, but develops solutions that provide continuity, predictability, and peace of mind for customers. She stressed that HVAC systems must maintain the same level of performance for many years, even under demanding conditions, and that İMBAT fulfills its commitments in measurable and verifiable ways.

She also noted that this understanding of trust is reinforced by the company’s international certifications and quality documents, and that İMBAT’s increasing presence in global projects and new export markets is a clear reflection of its reliability and product quality.

Looking ahead, Nuriye Gümrükçüler stated that İMBAT’s strategy includes continuing to grow through exports, entering new markets, and strengthening cooperation with distributors in existing markets. At the same time, the company aims to further enhance its domestic sales organization in order to deliver closer, faster, and more effective field service to customers in Türkiye.

She concluded by emphasizing that sustainable success can only be achieved through strong products, reliable business partners, and a highly capable field team, adding that the new Perseus series is a natural extension of İMBAT’s “safe harbor” vision.

The event concluded with a cocktail reception, offering guests an enjoyable setting for networking and conversation.
