2028 Road Map was Determined at the Air Conditioning Sector Strategy Workshop

Turkish HVAC&R Exporters Association (ISIB) held the Air Conditioning Industry Strategy Workshop between 31 October and 2 November 2023, where it determined the 2028 road map of the Turkish Air Conditioning Sector, discussed its strategy and economic developments, and shared the important administrative and commercial developments experienced during the year with its members. It was held at Antalya Cornelia Diamond Hotel. Within the scope of the workshop program, the ISIB Export Leaders Award Ceremony was held and the top companies were rewarded.

In the workshop hosted by Mehmet Şanal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ISIB, with the participation of more than 200 sector stakeholders, an interactive study was carried out for export targets in 2028, and expectations for the development and vision of the sector in the coming years were taken.  In the workshop, focal points were also determined in order to increase the efficiency of the activities that İSİB will carry out in the coming years.

Mehmet Şanal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ISIB, who made the opening speech of the workshop, stated that ISIB has become the most important stakeholder of the sector exporters with its vision of inclusiveness in many areas and said: “The World Air Conditioning market grew by 13.95 percent in the last four-year period and reached 580 billion dollars. . The Turkish Air Conditioning Industry showed a growth of 45 percent in this period. When we look at the subgroups of the sector, we grew 23.3 percent while the world grew 15.08 percent in heating systems and equipment. While the world grew by 15.7 percent in cooling systems and equipment, we recorded a growth of 48.6 percent. While the world grew by 6.7 percent in ventilation systems and equipment, we achieved 60.7 percent growth. While the world grew by 20.5 percent in air conditioning systems and components, we recorded a growth of 66.7 percent. While the world grew by 13.3 percent in plumbing systems and elements, we grew by 45.8 percent. While the world shrank by 2.1 percent in insulation systems and elements, we grew by 45.5 percent. These results are an indication that we are organized as a sector, we are moving forward with a certain strategy, and all stakeholders of the sector are working hard.

As the Turkish Air Conditioning industry, our main goal is to get a 1.5 percent share from the world market and to be a sector with a foreign trade surplus. We think we will achieve this goal within a few years. This year, we reached an export-import coverage ratio of nearly 90 percent. Our share from the world as a sector was 1.30 percent. The sector's kilogram unit price increased to 6.1 USD. According to TİM data, we are the 11th largest sector in Turkey. We are the 19th country in the world according to the export size ranking. Our sector exports exceeded 6 billion dollars as of the end of October. We predict that we will close the year with an export volume of 7.2 billion dollars.

In the first 11 months of 2023, while we participated in the fairs in 15 different countries for our exporters with our national participation and info stand models, we carried out Sectoral Trade Delegation activities for the ISK-SODEX Istanbul fair with Israel, Indonesia and Malaysia, Russia, Romania, Serbia, Russia and Belarus, Poland. . We carried out sponsorship and advertising activities in many fairs. We are moving forward strongly in coordination with all stakeholders of the industry.

Providing information about the Sector Strategy Workshop, Şanal stated that they implemented an efficient and effective sales and marketing strategy in global markets with all stakeholders and said, “As a country, we have an export volume target of 400 billion dollars for 2028. As a sector, we want to reach an export volume of 10.6 billion. In line with this goal, we determined our potential target countries together with our stakeholders in our workshop. We discussed in detail the opportunities and obstacles ahead. "We reviewed İSİB's activities and international strategy," he said.
