Turkey is a member of the Corporate Leadership Network (CLN), the body responsible for preparing the 2˚C Challenge Communique that has been signed by more than 200 company directors from 29 countries, among them Arcelik A.S.
In 2010, leaders in many sectors from energy, finance, retail and production came together to form the Corporate Leadership Network for the Climate, acting together to pave the way for national and international policies for reducing carbon emission. Besides Turkey, the Corporate Leadership Network has several different platforms operating in the EU, USA, Brazil, Southeast Asia, South Africa, Hong Kong, Mexico and Chile.
The Turkish venture of this group, the Climate Platform-Turkish Climate Change Leadership Group, cooperated with REC Turkey and TUSIAD (Turkish Businesspeople Association) to support the work being carried out to combat climate change and to enforce a low carbon economy. The members display innovative approaches and leadership qualities and are strongly supportive of Turkey accepting a lower carbon economy while strengthening their competitive powers. The Platform develops tools to help corporations conform to a new reduced-carbon economy and progress plan.
